The death of someone we love is never easy. As Christians, we know that those who have died rest in the arms of Jesus, but the pain of the separation remains. Paul encourages us in Romans to “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.” (Romans 12:15)
As a community of faith, we grieve with you in loss – but we also celebrate that the ones we love are at home with their Lord.
Often funeral arrangements are handled through the funeral home and there is no need to contact the church directly. The funeral home staff will contact the pastor (service), cemetery committee (internment) and ladies aid (lunch). If you have any questions or concerns, however, you are welcome to contact us directly.
Please keep in mind that funeral services within the Lutheran tradition are first and foremost worship services designed to proclaim Jesus as Lord and Saviour and the hope we have in Him. Our pastor will assist you in planning a funeral service.
Arrangements for burial in our cemetery can be made through our Cemetery committee chair. Our cemetery is located on the north side of the church building.
Arrangements for a luncheon following the service can be made through the Wilhelmina Willing Workers.
Additional information to help you in planning for a funeral can be found here.

“For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.
”– 2 Corinthians 5:1 NLT
